EU apple prices up 4.3% year-on-year in November 2024 with regional variations

Apple prices have shown varied trends across major European markets, reflecting local market conditions and production dynamics. In November 2024, the average price of apples in the European Union (EU) remained stable at €96.2 per 100 kg compared to the previous month. However, prices were 4.3% higher than in November 2023 and 23.5% above the five-year average. Notably, Poland reported significant price growth, with a 7.4% increase from October and a 21.7% rise compared to November 2023, attributed to strong domestic demand and export activities.

In contrast, France experienced a decline in apple prices, falling by 3.1% from October and remaining slightly below last year's levels. This decrease is linked to higher production volumes meeting steady domestic demand. Meanwhile, Italy saw minor price increases, with November prices rising 0.6% month-on-month and remaining relatively stable compared to the previous year, benefiting from robust export demand for premium varieties.

Germany exhibited a mixed trend, with apple prices declining 1% from October but increasing 4.8% compared to November 2023, reflecting a balance between local market supply and export demand.
