Coordination Rurale threatens a blockade in Paris

The Coordination Rurale union is planning a blockade in the French capital from Sunday, January 5th, if it does not obtain a meeting with the new Prime Minister François Bayrou, as well as concrete announcements from the French government. Véronique Le Floc'h, president of Coordination Rurale, confirmed on Friday that "one-off blockades" are indeed planned if the prime minister fails to respond.

According to the RTL website, "Véronique Le Floc'h said she had not yet received a reply from the government and was counting on the first Council of Ministers to convince them to give the farmers represented by the union some importance and answer their questions." According to the president, the farmers' union is preparing for mobilization but specifies that these will be one-off blockades. "I do not know how we will manage to hold back our farmers," added Véronique Le Floc'h, "but if it is not this time, it will be at the International Agricultural Show."
