Kyrgyzstan significantly increased its potato imports during the first ten months of 2024, importing 54,424 tons—2.2 times more than in the same period in 2023.
According to the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the total import value reached $7.769 million, a 97% increase compared to January–October 2023.
Potatoes were sourced from four key countries:
- Uzbekistan supplied 44,711 tons worth $4.673 million.
- Kazakhstan exported 8,804 tons valued at $2.749 million.
- Russia delivered 884 tons for $344,000.
- Azerbaijan provided 24 tons at a value of $3,000.
