A Silver SIVAL for the Orionit F1 butternut squash

It was a special edition of SIVAL for Voltz Maraîchage, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Present at SIVAL last week, the company was awarded a Silver SIVAL for its Orionit F1 butternut squash, developed in collaboration with Sakata Vegetables Europe S.A.S. "This is a new late variety that has the advantage of keeping very well, thanks in particular to its tolerance to Didymella Bryoniae. This fungus is responsible for black spots caused by rot that appears following shocks or pre-existing wounds, making the squash unsuitable for marketing. In addition to this interesting tolerance, the Orionit F1 butternut squash also has a good yield and it is visually very attractive, with its dark brown skin and appealing uniform shape. In terms of taste, its dense dark orange flesh has a high sugar content," explains Benjamin Cuenin, communications manager at Voltz Maraîchage.

The company also took advantage of the show to present visitors with other varieties from its wide range of herbs, young shoots, fruit (watermelon, melon), vegetable seeds (tomato, courgette, spinach, squash, sweet potato, parsnip, carrot, leek, radish, pumpkin, broccoli.), its Chiogga and Golden Eye beetroot, mainly created to meet a need for diversification, and the range of lamb's lettuce with its different hardy varieties to cover production all year round.
