Sellitto purchased a £150 Japanese Crown Melon from Harrods Food Hall, Knightsbridge, London. His experience, shared with his 275,000 Instagram followers, has gained attention online.
The melon, encased in a black and gold box with red velvet lining, was described by Sellitto as surprisingly heavy. Upon tasting, he commented, "It's quite chewy. Omg, it's so refreshing." Despite the price, Sellitto expressed willingness to purchase it again, stating, "Wow. Omg, that is the tastiest melon I have ever eaten in my life."
The method of consumption also drew remarks. Sellitto consumed the melon with his hands, including the skin and seeds, prompting comments from viewers. One noted, "You're not meant to eat the skin," to which Sellitto replied, "For £150 I'm eating the skin."
Reactions varied, with some questioning the expenditure: "Bro you must have more money than sense to spend £150 on that," while others focused on the unconventional eating method: "I never saw anyone eat a melon like that."
