Turkmenistan boosts greenhouse tomato exports by 43%, strengthens regional trade

In 2024, greenhouse tomatoes comprised a substantial portion of Turkmenistan's agricultural exports, reaching 149,000 tons. This figure represents a 43% increase compared to 2022. The distribution of these exports shows 56% directed to the Russian Federation, 28% to Kazakhstan, and over 11% to Kyrgyzstan.

Additional exports included vegetables and fruit products, with over 13,000 tons of lentils, 6,000 tons of onions, and about 4,000 tons of fruits and grapes produced since the previous year. Confectionery products, packaged vegetables and fruits, and soft drinks were also exported to neighboring regions.

The customs sector prioritizes the automation of procedures and enhancing operational efficiency. The "Single Window for Export and Import Operations" mechanism facilitates this by automating the export process and providing all necessary information via an electronic service portal. This initiative aims to expedite customs procedures and minimize time expenditure.
