A Victorian table grape producer has announced an exciting expansion of its variety offerings that will be exported to Japan and Thailand this season.
Budou Farms says thanks to newly granted market access, consumers will now have access to a wider range of varieties.
"We're thrilled that our partnership with Bloom Fresh has allowed us to cultivate some truly exceptional grapes, and we're confident they'll be a hit," Budou Farms co-owner Enrique Rossi said. "Harvesting is already underway for the crunchy and refreshing Ivory grapes. The response from visiting supermarkets, retailers, importers, and wholesalers has been more than positive, with many loving it after tasting them fresh off the vine. The secret to their incredible flavour is our commitment to harvesting at peak ripeness, with Brix levels consistently reaching 18 and even exceeding 20 in some of our younger patches. Our first shipment of Ivory grapes, destined for Japan in late February, is already completely sold out – with more containers going in following weeks."
As the season progresses, Budou Farms will be harvesting other exciting varieties. First up is the Timpson, a grape with a classic muscat flavor that Mr Rossi says "will transport consumers back to their childhood" with its nostalgic candy-like sweetness. Rounding out the season in mid-March will be the Allison.
"This remarkable grape boasts impressive size and vibrant color, even in its young patches," he said. "When perfectly ripe, the Allison offers an unbeatable crunch and exceptional shelf life. This year also marks our expansion into Thailand, where we'll be supplying Japanese outlets with our Bloom Fresh varieties. We see this as a niche market with significant potential and are eager to introduce our grapes to Thai consumers."
Mr Rossi added that the Australian company, based in Merbein South in Victoria's west, is working to add even more varieties to its portfolio, as well as opening up exciting opportunities in other Asian markets.
"We're passionate about flavour. We believe that focusing on quality and taste is the key to building lasting customer relationships," he said. "Our 'So Sweet' brand is becoming synonymous with delicious, high-quality grapes, driving repeat purchases and brand loyalty.
"To support our valued customers, both new and existing, we complement our exceptional produce with targeted social media marketing and in-store demonstrations. We're confident that our commitment to quality, flavor, and customer support will solidify Budou Farms as a recognized brand of grapes in Asia."
