Once again, the 2025 edition of Fruit Logistica featured a special "Organic Route" to highlight the vast array of fresh and processed organic produce available worldwide. Spread across more than 27 exhibition halls filled with traders and producers, the Organic Route showcased a diverse range of organic products.
The Italy hall, for instance, featured an extensive selection of organic-quality lettuces, leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, and lemons. In the German hall, various outdoor vegetable varieties and apples took center stage. The Spanish hall displayed a significant amount of citrus fruits, along with maize. In France, the emphasis was primarily on vegetables, whereas the Netherlands focused more on potatoes, onions, pumpkins, and fruit. The Belgian hall mainly showcased potatoes and top fruit.
Beyond Europe, China presented an abundance of ginger, garlic, and specialty fruits. South America and Greece focused heavily on avocados and citrus. From North Africa, we saw mangoes and dried produce, while Turkey offered organic figs. The Organic Route also featured Eastern European apples and mushrooms.
One notable observation was that, out of the more than 185 companies participating in the Organic Route, very few—at most 20—operated purely and exclusively within the organic sector. Additionally, not all companies that signed up for the Organic Route were actually able to present an organic product. This suggests that the organic market remains somewhat of a niche sector.
