Suspects throw canned vegetables at police during high-speed chase

A man and woman were arrested after a multi-state high-speed chase where they threw canned vegetables and other objects at police. The pursuit, reaching over 100 mph, began in Kansas and ended in Butler, Missouri, when officers blocked their escape. A canned vegetable shattered a patrol car's windshield. The suspects, Shelby McGee, 28, and Chad Thompson, 30, had outstanding warrants for burglary and property damage. Officers found a white crystalline substance in their car. One deputy suffered a minor hand injury. Both now face multiple felony charges in Bates County.
