Although in the last thirty years, the large-scale organized distribution and the online sales of giants such as Amazon have taken over an important part of commerce for a wide range of articles, today there is a kind of social need to return to a meeting in neighborhood shops or local markets. These places are very important for socializing, considering that in Rome alone - according to the data on the institutional website of the city council - there are 70 neighborhood markets, 30 of which are covered, for about 3,000 stands, many of which are food booths.

"On Sunday, February 16th, we were in the Talenti district of Rome, and our presence at district markets or fairs in Italian cities is how we promote our artisanal products. Our main products are mulberry, pistachio, almond, lemon and orange liqueurs. Today, more than ever, in a context that is unfortunately hostile and that threatens to endanger production, we can say that the local markets have a sustainable presence, also thanks to the sale of Km0 products. We have seen with our own eyes - and this is why we are growing as a company - that people choose the markets also because they want a human connection", says Daniele Errico, Marketing Manager of Le Nuove Chicche, an Italian company that produces typical handmade products from the Cilento National Park, led by owner Nicola Montano."
I've been promoting the line of pistachio, almond, and hazelnut liqueurs, patés, and spreads at various trade fairs," says Daniele Errico, "and it's been a great achievement, despite the fact that I have to compete with other well-known companies in my sector. We don't produce large quantities, because we are convinced that we want to remain an artisan company, focused on the quality of raw materials and on homemade methods, just as in the past. Cilento, in southern Campania, is one of the places with the greatest Italian biodiversity, with its black mulberry, along with Sicily, for example, with the pistachio of Bronte and the almond of Avola."
"The unwavering commitment to the quality of our raw materials and the keen observation of commercial trends and innovations are the cornerstones of our brand's heritage, which is undergoing a period of significant growth and market presence expansion. This expansion can be attributed, in part, to the diversification of our product line with the addition of essences, classic and special liqueurs, icings for desserts, and other new items. The strong connection with tradition, craftsmanship, passion, and constant and continuous research has contributed to the recognition and appreciation of our products within the sector."
The range of products includes almond, hazelnut, and pistachio flavored spreads, crafted with a high raw material content or in their purest form. These spreads are available in 180-gram glass jars, suitable for use in cakes, festive products like Christmas and Easter pastries, breakfast meals, snacks, and garnishes for tarts or spreads on bread.
"We couldn't be happier with the company's results, especially because we're growing rapidly and attracting international clientele. This is beneficial in two ways: first, it's a testament to the quality of our products; and second, there's a growing demand for healthy foods."
"I almost forgot! We need your help to promote the vital importance of local markets, as they provide irreplaceable social value, especially in the face of rising loneliness. Staying on topic, here's a fascinating tidbit: The history of markets dates back to the earliest civilizations that emerged on the planet, coinciding with the emergence of democracy in ancient Greece."
