The Greenery has officially launched the Dutch Inspire strawberry season. This year, a further expansion of the cultivation area ensures a larger available volume, allowing more consumers to enjoy these premium, flavorful strawberries. The growth among the growers is one of the key factors contributing to this increased production.
Growth strategy yields results
In recent years, The Greenery has strategically focused on expanding the Inspire cultivation area in the Netherlands. "Our growers have confidence in the Inspire variety and are investing in expanding their production, which is now reflected in availability," says Aad van Dijk, Head of Fruit at The Greenery. "By collaborating with growers who lead in innovation and quality, we are strengthening the Netherlands' position as a frontrunner in strawberry cultivation."

Producing high-quality and flavorful strawberries
Thanks to the extensive knowledge and experience of Dutch growers, consumers can rely on strawberries with an unparalleled taste and quality. Additionally, the early availability of Inspire strawberries from Dutch greenhouses allows consumers to enjoy locally grown strawberries early in the season.
Strawberry grower Guus Cox of Cox Aardbeien shares: "We chose Inspire for its exceptional taste and strong plant development. This variety enables us to consistently produce high-quality, flavorful strawberries, which is highly appreciated by our buyers. Moreover, Inspire offers a uniform harvest cycle and efficient picking performance, resulting in over 95% of the fruit being classified as Grade I. Its natural disease resistance and labor efficiency also make it a profitable and future-proof choice for growers."

Expertise as a quality guarantee
The Netherlands is internationally recognized for its innovative and sustainable approach to strawberry cultivation. With a strong focus on craftsmanship, innovation, and product care, Dutch strawberries continue to be a favorite among consumers and buyers alike.
"Our growers are committed to delivering top-quality products every day, and with Inspire, we highlight the strength of Dutch cultivation," says Van Dijk.
Klaas de Jager, an agronomist at The Greenery and involved from the start in the development of the Inspire variety, adds: "Inspire strawberries, originating from our soft fruit breeding program Inspiring Berries, stand out for their excellent taste, firm texture, and long shelf life. This makes them not only loved by consumers but also highly valued by retailers and traders seeking reliable quality."
The first Dutch Inspire strawberries of this season are now available.
