"2024 was a good year for us, with the set up of several lines. Operators in the fruit and vegetable sector are increasingly asking us for technologies capable of making guaranteed weight trays that 'give away' as little product as possible," reports Ruggero Ricci, owner of Bulltec, as he takes stock of the past year and thinks about the coming months.
"Combined weight processing lines for guaranteed weight trays have been the most popular lately. If the amount of extra produce with traditional lines is around 10-12% on average, it is no more than 3% with our technologies, which is a physiological minimum. We manage to have high speeds, up to 45 filled baskets per minute, and high hourly yields".
And it makes no difference whether the bins are plastic or paper. "For example, our lines for vegetables such as courgettes or peppers, as well as for other types, work with both types of materials without any problem."
At a recent trade fair, Bulltec showcased its innovative processing line for minimum-weight trays designed for high-quality cherry tomatoes. "This line is fully customizable, tailor-made to the specific needs of each individual customer, guaranteeing high delicacy in product handling and considerable efficiency in the production cycle."
"One of the most sought-after aspects is the delicacy of the processing. To do this, we have avoided any drops, as the produce proceeds on a single level. The simplicity of the design allows us to minimize maintenance. As one of our Sicilian customers says, 'You start it up and forget about it'."
"We have also developed a patented grader for fennel, suitable for difficult environments with soil and water. There is no shortage of innovations and, during 2025, we will increase our presence in Italy and abroad."
