Pear brand nominated for World Food Innovation Awards

Xenia has been nominated in two categories at the upcoming World Food Innovation Awards: "Best Natural Product" and "Best Marketing Campaign." The brand's approach to fresh produce and consumer engagement has gained recognition in an industry where ultra-processed foods and exotic superfoods often dominate.

Xenia promotes regional and sustainable food consumption. Unlike short-term crops, pear trees are a long-term investment, producing fruit for over 30 years while contributing to the economic stability of farming communities. The pear is cultivated in several European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Slovakia, and Poland, following integrated production standards. In select markets, it is also available in certified organic quality.

With the slogan "Pear Your Mind!", Xenia encourages consumers to consider fresh and local alternatives over processed foods. The brand follows a club-model branding approach similar to other fresh produce brands like Chiquita, Zespri, and Pink Lady. This model has contributed to a growing demand for Xenia pears and improved returns for European farmers.

Xenia is the only unprocessed product among the nominees for this year's World Food Innovation Awards. While other nominated products have been formulated or refined, Xenia remains a fresh, natural product. The brand has been developed in collaboration with Xenia Europa in the Netherlands and the Deutsche Obst-Sorten Konsortium (DOSK), a German association of eight producer organizations, under the marketing leadership of Obst vom Bodensee Vertriebsgesellschaft.

The winners of the World Food Innovation Awards will be announced on March 17, 2025, in London as part of the International Food & Drink Event (IFE).
