Il Vigneto d'Oro

Passion and innovation to grow as a company

'Il Vigneto d'Oro di Ciriacono Loris' continues to play its part in the Sicilian horticultural campaign with an intense and rewarding harvesting and marketing activity.

Loris Ciriacono

"We grow green courgettes and red and yellow peppers, the fruit of our constant commitment and careful management of the production and post-harvesting processes," explains Loris Ciriacono. "One of the most significant milestones we have achieved is the expansion of our shipments, which now reach numerous markets in Italy and abroad. We are particularly proud of the growing presence of our products in Munich, Turin, Pescara, Naples, and Fondi. Soon, we will also be present in other destinations. This expansion is not only the result of strategic planning, but also of the trust our customers place in the quality of our products thanks to the fact that we avoid dealing in second-rate goods, and focus only on the premium segment."

"This year, producer prices varied from €1.50 to €2.80 for peppers and from €0.30 to €1.50 for courgettes, depending on the market situation. We felt the foreign competition right from the start, especially from Spain, but also from the other side of the Mediterranean where we do not know whether the same phytosanitary regulations apply as in Italy, not to mention the working and salary conditions. Some players are available on the market at such low prices that they are unable to offer guarantees to European consumers."

"Such competition is certainly very difficult for us to deal with in the absence of appropriate forms of supervision and protection. Therefore, we have no choice but to stand out for our genuine, zero-residue goods that comply with all Italian and European regulations. Elements, all together, are the expression of products of great organoleptic quality and health."

Assessment and short-term expectations
The company's production reached significant volumes in 2024:

  • 50 tonnes of courgettes, mainly distributed to Pescara and Turin;
  • 200 tonnes of peppers, mainly destined for Pescara, Turin and Pagani;
  • 500 tonnes of tomatoes, shipped mainly to Pescara, Turin and France;
  • 2,500 tonnes of grapes, marketed mainly in Turin, France, and Milan.

"For the current year, we are expecting an increase in production of about 10%. In addition, we are expanding our distribution network to reach new markets. When it comes to courgettes, we are intensifying collaborations with Turin and Naples while, for peppers, we are strengthening our relations in Turin and Pescara, and expanding our presence in Germany."

Il Vigneto d'Oro is a well-established business that is geared towards continuous growth. In recent years, the owner has embarked on a retraining journey that featured studies and advanced courses in entrepreneurship. That is how the company has been able to make an important generational and qualitative leap, also relying on the collaboration of internal human resources and external partnerships.

"Our company philosophy is based on valuing human resources, that is why we are always looking for new talent who want to grow with us. In this regard, I would like to mention our marketing activity, which is taken care of with passion by our colleague Serena Raia. Thanks to her work, we have reached new customers and made ourselves known more and more. In addition, we are supported by our external consultant Gianluigi Augurale, who provides us with the right strategies and guidelines."

"Now we are enthusiastically preparing for the table grape season, which is our pride and joy. There are already many requests, which fills us with pride. In addition, after the success of the past few years, we are also returning with high-quality tomatoes, confirming our ability to respond to market needs with fresh and genuine products."
