The Hass Avocado Board is a research and promotion program that provides the avocado industry with consolidated supply and market data, conducts nutrition research, educates health professionals, and brings people together from all corners of the industry to collectively work towards increasing the consumption of Hass avocados in the United States.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for the Hass Avocado Board to fill seats for six members for three-year terms beginning Nov. 1, 2025. Nomination applications are due by April 1, 2025.
The Hass Avocado Board is seeking nominees for the following seats:
- Four domestic producers- two producer members and their alternates
- Two importers- one importer member and its alternate
Nominees may seek nomination to the board for all open seats for which they are eligible.

The current 12-member board includes seven producer members, two importer members, and three producer or importer members who serve in swing seats. Each member has an alternate. Since 1966, Congress has authorized the development of industry-funded research and promotion boards to provide a framework for agricultural industries to pool their resources and combine efforts to develop new markets, strengthen existing markets and conduct important research and promotion activities. AMS provides oversight of 22 boards, paid for by industry assessments, which helps ensure fiscal accountability and program integrity.
