Mozambique expects $31m from macadamia exports

The provinces of Maputo and Niassa may generate approximately two billion meticais (US$31.3 million) in state revenues through macadamia nut exports to South Africa and China, according to Radio Mozambique. Macadamia cultivation is expanding in Mozambique due to its high-yield potential.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries anticipates exports of over 6,000 tons of macadamia in the current harvest. ANuts Production and Development director Feliza Macome stated, "The Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries expects to see exports of just over 6,000 tons of macadamia in the current harvest."
