A new International Berry Seminar is planned to be held in Morocco on September 10 in the city of Tangier, which has become the permanent location for this meeting. Industry leaders, researchers and specialists will take part in the event, which will be part of a full program that will address the most relevant aspects of modern production, commercial opportunities and the reality of the markets.
"A large attendance is expected, surpassing that of 2024, in which there were participants from Peru, Chile, Mexico, the U.S., France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Poland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Turkey, Jordan and Morocco, as well as other countries attracted by the beauty and flavor of berries."

"In Morocco, Blueberries Consulting's International Seminars are facilitating the development of the berry export industry and promoting it as a modern, technologically advanced, professional and well-managed industry, as we've already seen before in Chile, Mexico and, especially, Peru".
Competitive advantages
Morocco has established itself as a key player in the production and export of berries. "With a production that covers ten months of the year, the country has become a strategic supplier for Europe and other regions. Morocco's weather allows the production of berries in months when other competitors are unable to supply the market. This gives the country an advantage in the early supply of fruit, especially in winter. Moreover, the frequent introduction of new varieties has made it possible to improve the quality and adaptability of the crops to the demands of the international market."
"These conditions and Morocco's privileged geographical location in relation to Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa and even the Asian region, which will become a key market in the near future, really give it an edge, and in the city of Tangier, with its strategic location in between continents, the industry has a chance to develop and grow to unlimited levels."

Strategic location
Holding the International Berry Seminar in Tangier will also make it possible to welcome producers from neighboring countries, both from Africa and Europe. "It will be a great opportunity for the young Portuguese industry, which in blueberries alone already has 3,000 hectares planted. There will also be many representatives of the experienced Spanish industry, including producers, entrepreneurs and above all, investors."
"At the 2024 seminar, in addition to 15 international speakers and a great thematic program, there was a significant presence of players from almost all European countries, as well as from many Latin American and North American countries, as well as visitors from various African and Asian countries, not only from China. In the 2025 edition, we expect higher numbers in the halls of the Royal Tulip City Center Hotel and more companies showing interest in the great growth of the Moroccan industry and its good positioning in the markets."

Leading industry
In terms of industry projections, Morocco is making progress in increasing its blueberry production, growing more competitive varieties, and adopting high-tech management systems, such as hydroponics. The country is developing strategies to extend its season and maintain a supply for all or most of the 52 weeks of the year. Cultivation is expanding to the southern regions for earlier harvests and to the Atlas Mountains for later harvests. This strategic expansion is expected to further improve Morocco's competitiveness in the global blueberry market.
"In this context, holding the 38th International Berry Seminar 2025 at the Royal Tulip City Center Hotel in Tangier on September 10 can be a determining factor for the potential development of the Moroccan berry industry, which is in full growth and consolidating as a major player in the global export industry."
