Soft fruit industry to meet again in Tangier

A new International Berry Seminar is planned to be held in Morocco on September 10 in the city of Tangier, which has become the permanent location for this meeting. Industry leaders, researchers and specialists will take part in the event, which will be part of a full program that will address the most relevant aspects of modern production, commercial opportunities and the reality of the markets.

Leading industry
In terms of industry projections, Morocco is making progress in increasing its blueberry production, growing more competitive varieties, and adopting high-tech management systems, such as hydroponics. The country is developing strategies to extend its season and maintain a supply for all or most of the 52 weeks of the year. Cultivation is expanding to the southern regions for earlier harvests and to the Atlas Mountains for later harvests. This strategic expansion is expected to further improve Morocco's competitiveness in the global blueberry market.
