Exclusive partnership between Grand Domaine du Senegal and Hagé International
For over 7 years GDS, part of Compagnie Frutière, has been the exclusive deliverer of cherry tomatoes under the "Doona" brand, to Hagé in The Netherlands. Over the coming winter season the Senegalese company promises to once again deliver their best quality cherry, santa and vine cherry tomatoes to Hagé. Anton Maris speaks positively over this partnership: "Hagé is proud to be able to offer the Doona top brand in her assortment. Despite increasing production in the sector, we see plenty of opportunities for us to continue successfully working together with the Doona brand."
The Doona brand is renown for its quality and durability. Through the stable weather, growing conditions and the ample supply of water in north Senegal (St Louis region), it is possible to produce this distinctive product. This product is suitable for export and there is plenty of demand for this brand from Russia and Scandinavia.
This week Hagé received the first supply of cherry tomatoes from Senegal which was four weeks earlier than last year but supply will be limited until the beginning of January. Due to this limited availability of cherry tomatoes, Anton Maris is optimistic about the start of the new season which will last until late May.
The tomatoes are available in standard packaging 9 x 250 gram (cherry), 12 x 250 (santa) and a 10 x 500 gram punnet (vine cherry). On request they can be supplied without a label, lid or in loose 4 kg amounts.
