A grower/supplier is put in the spotlight at OZ export on the website. This month it's Kwekerij Duynplant from De Lier:
After Duynplant started with the Yucca from Central America in 1992, the step was made in 1995 to grow Zamioculcas. The grower was at the start of this and the popularity of this plant. At the nursery at the Harteveldlaan in Honselersdijk all pot sizes are grown from cuttings to full plant.
Duynplant produces around 500,000 plants on an annual basis. The Zamioculcas is especially easy to take care of, which is likely an important reason for the increased interest in this plant.
At Duynplant's location in De Lier, Livistona and Cordyline are also grown. The Livistona is from Sri Lanka and the Cordyline originates from Brazil. These plants are raised at Duynplant after which 'the consumer can experience the jungle in their own home'.
The Cordyline is available in five different leaf colours, which all have their own surname: Cordyline Kiwi, Rumba, Tango, Mambo, and Geraldo.
MPS
Mother nature isn't forgotten during the cultivation of all these pretty plants: Duynplant grows its plant environmentally friendly. As a result of this it has obtained the MPS-A certificate. For more information on MPS visit www.my-mps.com.
