"Lintong pomegranates are divided based on the place they were cultivated, either on the Northern slopes of Mt. Li or the region of emperor Qin Shihuang. Around Mt. Li, the orchard stretches out for 15 kilometers, with a surface of over 800 hectares. It is the largest cultivation base for pomegranates in China. The yearly production can reach 100,000 tons."
"The name of the cultivation region can easily make people think of China's past. In fact, from the Zhou dynasty all the way until the Tang dynasty, Lintong was part of the capital, a region situated at the centre of Chinese political, economic, and cultural activity. As such it has a climate and geography that is gifted with rich resources. The region has more than 10 rivers, 4 good seasons and a clear distinction between dry and wet. The average temperature on yearly basis is 13°C with up to 219 days without frost. All of this is very beneficial to the growth of foodstuffs like fruits and vegetables."
"And Lintong pomegranates are the best of China. In the feudal past, it used to be a tribute to the emperor. Not only did it have a beautiful appearance, but the peel is also very thin and the grains have soft seeds and lots of juice. They can reach a sweetness of 14 brix and have a fresh sweet taste. Additionally, all other pomegranates are already finished on the market after October, so Lintong pomegranates go on sale in a very easy market climate. Even though the production volume of the pomegranates was reduced this year, the quality is the same. In the business, there is a general optimism for this year's market."
