On Wednesday 3 July, a new company hall 3821 at Fresh Park Venlo was opened. Besides the Dutch Graphic Group, Scelta Essenza, part of Scelta Mushrooms from Venlo, also makes its entry in the new building. For Jan Klerken, it’s the eighth company location he has opened, this time at the spot where he used to go to the auction with his father as a child. Nino Venezia of the Dutch Graphic Group also called the new location a dream come true.
Scelta Essenza preserve mushrooms in their own liquid using an innovative process. The juice comes from the mushroom and there are no additives. The resulting mushrooms in Ecopouches combine fresh and preserved mushrooms: uncooled, non-perishable mushrooms, which taste fresh and have a fresh texture and the well-known long shelf life. “We didn’t take the motorway of commodities, but we focus on creating and adding value with sustainability, flavour and health as the three most important pillars,” Jan Klerken says.
Manager Lizbeth van den Boogaard welcomed the new tenants of the building, and looked back on the first completions of the past year. She said Scelta Essenza as a mushroom processing company was a wonderful addition to the current site occupants, and she also wished “our Nino” much luck in the new building. “The family company is woven into the fabric of both your DNA. Besides, you’re both strongly involved with the region. We’re proud to welcome you into the new building.”

Various neighbours, acquaintances and suppliers were present to witness the opening and to raise a glass to the great future of the new tenants at this location. A jazz band accompanied the festivities, and mushroom snacks were naturally served.
