"Hainan fruit enjoyed a peak sales period during Chinese Spring Festival [February 5th, 2019] as market demand increased. Guifei mangoes are mostly medium and large this year as a result of lower temperatures. The supply of Guifei mangoes is currently limited and the price continues to rise." This is according to Chang Zhongjie, a fruit farmer and retailer in Hainan.

"Guifei mangoes, also known as Red Gold Dragons, are a mango variety selected and cultivated in Taiwan. They were introduced to Hainan in 1997. The fruit of this early-season variety handles storage and transport quite well. The flavor is sweet and fragrant, and the sugar content 14-18. This is one of the most common varieties in Hainan mango plantations. The Guifei mango is popular with consumers and has been since this variety was widely promoted in 2015. Retail conditions are excellent."

"We guarantee product quality through strict adherence to a 'tree ripe' harvest policy. The market conditions have been such in recent years that supply is unable to meet demand. We therefore focus on mango gift baskets. We mainly sell in north and south China, but supply only a small volume to northeast and northwest China."
