Consorzio Dorì Europe and RK Growers have signed an agreement with the objective of consolidating their positions and obtaining new customers by working with the Asian, the American and the Canadian markets. Thanks to this agreement, this variety of yellow kiwi will become known to a greater number of operators in the sector and will reach ever greater sales points.
"Thanks to the experience of RK Growers and the quality of our products, we are certain that we will achieve remarkable results. So far, production in 2019 has been excellent in terms of quality and quantity. We estimate a harvest of our product, in Italy, of around 3,200 tons, twice as much as last year. This is because additional hectares have been used for production", explains the president of Dorì Giampaolo Dal Pane.

Daniela Ballatore and Paolo Carissimo, of RK Growers, satisfied with the aformentioned agreement, have stated that "The quality of the Dorì kiwi is unquestionable, as are the prospects for growth. The agreement has been made during an important time for the development of overseas sales".
To further strengthen its presence in Asia, Dorì and RK Growers will participate at Asia Fruit Logistica, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong from 4 to 6 September 2019, in Hall 3, stand F 20.
"The harvest of the Dorì kiwi will begin around mid September. We are not in a hurry and we do not want to anticipate the breaks, because we are aware that the best quality, in this season, depends on the ideal moment of the harvest. Only when the sugar content / dry substance will be at the right point, we will begin to harvest," continues Giampaolo Dal Pane.
As previously mentioned, in terms of quantity, forecasts are rapidly growing, while quality-wise, the results meet the expectations. With respect to gross saleable production, 2018 was a positive year for the producers of Dorì. As confirmed by Dal Pane "Our kiwis involve lower management costs compared to others, and have no problems in terms of size. These factors allow for a very satisfying result when it comes to gross saleable production" .
In order to obtain the highest quality, Dorì producers do not collect all the products just once, but twice, so that the fruits which could not be collected on the first pass as they are too small or not mature yet, are then ready and have enough caliber and dry substance to be collected on the second pass.
