Mangosteen becomes 9th fruit from Vietnam to enter Chinese market

On August 27, the General Administration of Customs of China issued a notice regarding quarantine requirements for the import of mangosteen from Vietnam. From now on, the import of Vietnamese mangosteens that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed. It is reported that mangosteen is the 9th Vietnamese fruit allowed to be exported to China by the General Administration of Customs.

Fruit is an important and sensitive product in the international trade of agricultural goods. In order to effectively control risks of invasive alien pests, maintain the quality and safety of imported fruit, and meet the local consumers' demand for high-quality imported fruit, China has implemented a designated port system for imported fruit.

It is reported that prior to this new protocol, 8 Vietnamese fruits have been allowed to be exported to China, namely jackfruit, mangos, dragon fruit, rambutan, watermelons, bananas, longan, and lychees.
