Vroegop-Windig sells wholesale activities and cutter at Foodcenter Amsterdam

The company Vroegop AGF (also called Vroegop-Windig) is part of the Vroegop Group, which was taken over by Sligro Food Group (SFG). Vroegop AGF in Amsterdam is a wholesaler and importer of (organic) potatoes, vegetables and fruit, including its own cutting plant. In total, around 75 employees work for Vroegop AGF.

When the takeover was announced on May 7 of this year, Sligro Food Group immediately stated that the activities of Vroegop AGF were not part of the focus of Sligro Food Group and were loss-making. Sligro Food Group has therefore also indicated that it will dispose of or dismantle this activity. The intermediate period has been used to find a suitable buyer for all or part of the activities.

Of the interested parties, two parties remained, namely Gebr. De Mooij Amsterdam B.V. and Miedema and Son B.V. They have offered the best prospect for customers, assets and (some of) the employees of Vroegop AGF.

Gebr. de Mooij Amsterdam B.V. takes over the building and the wholesale activities from 1-10-2019. This concerns the turnover and the associated employees. Miedema will take over the cutting plant from 1-10-2019 including the machinery, the turnover and the associated employees of the cutting plant.
