Freshtasia wants to bring more variety into the vegetable ranges

Berlin start-up is dedicated to cultivating Asian vegetable specialties

On some 1,600 m2, Ralf and Rongrong Szydlewski have recreated a little piece of Asia. In their greenhouse in Kladow, Indian spinach, snake beans, Vietnamese cilantro or Shiso, which is popular in Japan, have been growing for a few months now. All of them are vegetables and herbs, which are actually grown in Asia. The couple is now bringing them to Berlin with their start-up Fresh Tasia - and want to bring more variety into the vegetable ranges.

In German supermarkets, there is a lack of variety. "And the imported vegetables have much less taste," says Rongrong Szydlewski in an interview with The Morning Post. "There is currently a trend to cook fresh and regional. So the potential is there," added Ralf Szydlewski. The start-up wants to be able to offer self-produced vegetables in the winter.

Multi-digit marketing
The vegetables are initially distributed directly at the site as well as via 4 pick-up points within the region. In addition, Fresh Tasia works together with restaurants and hotels: In addition, an online shop will soon be set up.
