Putin urges Russians to eat more vegetables

Russian president Vladimir Putin has said that Russians’ consumer shopping basket should be revised to include more vegetables (and fish and meat as well).

"You are right, this has to be adjusted timely and the basket should be looked into," the head of state remarked. "Experts say its structure requires an improvement because, I do not remember the exact figures, but the bulk of it consists of potato, fats and all, bread and bakery, while vegetables and fruit are too scarce and fish and meat do not occupy their due place in the basket.”
