Each machine is the result of cutting-edge technological research, which guarantees high-quality standards, strength and reliability. "To assure our customers' production is our goal", state Massimiliano Nucci and Gabriella Bolzoni (pictured below) of the Emilian GNA.

At the latest edition of Fruit Logistica, the company launched a new packaging machine, called Chimera, the result of a careful search for innovative solutions, very performing but at the same time user-friendly.
"It is a dream that we have been cradling for a long time and that today becomes reality. Chimera is already available on the national and international market. Here, for example, our exclusive distributor for the German market is present, which, in addition to its own machinery, is showing GNA's Mobula as well: we are talking about the Bernhard Upmann Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG company (see FreshPlaza of 10 February 2020)", says Bolzoni.
With a structure made of aluminium and stainless steel 304, Chimera is a highly performing, flexible and reliable machine: it is modular and customizable - depending on the products to be packaged - and can be equipped with an automatic synchronizer.
Going more into the specifics of the machine, Nucci adds: "We have created a fast and efficient translating head system. The machine also differs in the welding principle: the product is guided in the welding area by a central chain. To preserve the product in the best way, Chimera creates perfectly sealed packages, with two transverse welds and a lower longitudinal seal".
"Using two brushless engines allows perfect control of the machine; and the multilingual touch screen panel facilitates the preparation and storage of data for its start up. Thanks to synchronization devices and indexed bypass belts it is possible to manage optimally delicate products which, once placed in their proper container, are then conveyed to the flow pack packaging machine", adds Nucci.
Over time, the packaging materials have changed. The market demands greater sustainability and the manufacturers of packaging lines have to adapt. "The materials that can be used with Chimera are for the most part compostable films and biodegradable plastics. The packaging machine is also suited for paper. A software manages the connections between the upstream production line and the downstream packaging system", concludes Bolzoni.
Since 1987, GNA srl's mission has been the development of automatic machines and systems for the packaging of food and non-food products. The company, based in the heart of the Emilian packaging valley, near Bologna, is a well-established reality both nationally and internationally, with a strong export vocation. In addition to his great experience in systems for packaging fruit and vegetables and fourth range products, for several years it has also worked on researching and manufacturing machines and lines for other food products.
