Futura, a company that designs, manufactures, installs and provides assistance for produce processing machinery, has announced that the production facility will remain closed at least until March 23rd.
“We have decided to suspend production considering the current situation. There may be a few delays, but they will cause no problem for our clients, who have already approved our decision. We opted for this solution as we wanted to safeguard the health of our employees and, most of all, 'help' our national health service. We will restart stronger than ever," explained owner Omar Papi.

There are purchase orders in place and Futura is rather pleased with the period. The next deliveries will include two apple systems for Russia and Kazakhstan, a papaya system for Peru and an avocado one for Kenya.
"I believe the important thing now is to think about our health. Thanks to smart working, at least part of our work will go on. If we want to take something positive out of this, we can say we have realized some negotiations, analyses or clarifications with foreign clients can be done remotely - we do not necessarily have to be physically in the same place."
Of course some fairs have been postponed or cancelled. "I believe the few that will take place will have a lower number of visitors. Anyway we must assess the evolution of contagion and how the various nations will react. I believe Italy has great human and entrepreneurial resources and I hope the European Union can be united in such a situation for the well being of its citizens."
