Argentina starts its citrus export campaign to Russia

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of Argentina reported that a shipment of fresh lemons, mandarins, and grapefruits had departed from Campana, which is northeast of the province of Buenos Aires, on April 22 to Russia, within the framework of the beginning of the 2020 export campaign.

According to the agricultural portfolio, this is the first export of fresh citrus made from the Euroamerica SA port complex, located in Campana, to Russia.

Professionals from the Buenos Aires North Regional Center of the National Agricultural Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) carried out the inspection and phytosanitary certification of the 5.5 tons of fresh fruits that were exported. The shipment is made up of a total of 4,924 pallets of fresh fruit that consisted of 4,156 pallets of lemons, 644 pallets of mandarins, 24 of grapefruits, and 100 pallets of pears.
