An Israeli company seeks to install a fruit drying plant in Panama

The ambassador of Panama in Israel, Adis Urieta, stated that the Israeli company Sasson, which is based in Kiriat Gat and specializes in nuts and dried fruits, is interested in installing in Panama a drying plant for tropical fruits, especially pineapple.

Urieta said the company also wanted to work with a new trade network for a product they sell to the United States, which is made with date paste and groundnuts, including cashews, (also known in Panama as cashew nuggets).

The ambassador visited Sasson's facilities, where the company's staff explained how the facilities are operated and how they comply with hygiene and sanitary measures, not only due to the COVID-19 pandemic but throughout the year.

After the recent entry into force of the free trade agreement (FTA) between Panama and Israel, both countries are polishing the requirements so that the Central American country can export its agricultural products to Israel.
