In the Russian city of Vladivostok, June potato prices have risen sharply. In markets, the cost of a kilogram reaches 200 rubles. This, according to sellers, is associated with a reduction in supplies from China.
Due to problems with the passage of heavy trucks on the border with China in Primorye, the supply of potatoes decreased. Small shops and large chains are forced to seek a replacement for Chinese vegetables. Potatoes are brought from the central part of Russia, Azerbaijan and Egypt. Shipping costs and the high price of wholesalers are ultimately reflected in the final cost to the buyer.
The most expensive potato is young, seaside. According to one version, because of the closed borders, the Chinese workers were unable to return to the fields in Primorye, so a shortage of local potatoes is also possible by autumn.
At Sambury, potatoes from the Moscow Region and Primorye are sold at 79,99 and 79,9 rubles, respectively. Young potatoes from Azerbaijan are more expensive - 99,9 rubles per kilogram.
