Miami-based grower, shipper Alpine Fresh, Inc. has announced the retirement of their veteran director of sales John Lyons.
“John has played an essential role in the growth and success of Alpine Fresh over these last 30 years. He has been instrumental in developing and leading our sales team, helping to make Alpine a leader in the industry. John started with us in 1990 when we were an 8-person operation trying to find a place in the industry and with his guidance we have been able to grow into what Alpine is today. It has been a fun ride and it was a pleasure to work alongside such a professional. John will always be a part of the Alpine Fresh family,” says Walter Yager, CEO of Alpine Fresh, Inc.
John Lyons has been in the produce industry since 1987. He has been with Alpine since 1990 and will remain as a consultant.
“In the early days we wore many hats which allowed me to learn the different aspects of the produce business. We had a small but determined team and we were very committed to growing the business. We developed core values that we still use 30 years later,” John Lyons said. “I’ve had the opportunity to watch Alpine Fresh grow from a very small company to a large organization and it has been a phenomenal experience. I have had a long run with Alpine and I am very proud of what has been accomplished.”
