The president of the consulting firm Inform@cción, Fernando Cilloniz Benavides, said that Peru is expected to export more than 400,000 tons of fresh avocados in the 2020 campaign, which will come to an end in a few weeks.
Cilloniz said that the country had exported 310,000 tons of fresh avocado in the 2019 campaign, and 360,000 tons in the 2018 campaign. The country is expected to achieve a record export in 2020 because it exported 360,000 tons of fresh avocado between January and August of this year.
In the first eight months of the year, the main avocado exporting companies were: Camet Trading, which shipped 31,500 tons; Avocado Packing Company with 29,500 tons; Camposol with 27,000 tons; Agrícola Cerro Prieto with 20,700 tons; and Sociedad Agrícola Drokasa with 13,700 tons, among others.
