Official opening of Second edition of the Global Lemon Industry Development Summit

The second edition of the Global Lemon Industry Development Summit was officially opened with a festive ceremony in Ziyang City on the 21st of September, 2020. The International Food (Lemon) Processing Industry Development Summit took place at the same time. This edition of the Global Lemon Summit was themed "the world of lemons, and lemons of the world".

Anyue County in Ziyang City is one of the main lemon production areas in China. The overall surface area devoted to lemon plantation in Anyue is around 35 thousand hectares. Their annual production volume is around 610 tons and has a value of more than 13.1 billion yuan [1.92 billion USD]. Anyue is the fifth largest lemon production area in the world and accounts for more than 80% of China's lemon production volume. It is often called the Chinese hometown of lemons.

The summit helped to develop business opportunities both in relation to the "one belt, one road" initiative and the vast economy of nearby Chengdu and Chongqing. The summit also showcased the advantages of Anyue lemons, promoted cooperation with Anyue lemon producers, and speeded up the development of high-quality industrial standards. The summit was a new milestone in the development of the lemon industry in China and the Golden Triangle in Southeast Asia, as well as the global lemon industry. The summit helped Anyue lemons to leave China and enter the world stage.
