80% of the world's orange production is used to make juices and extracts

Orange-based drinks are among the most popular around the world. In fact, according to estimates by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), nearly 80% of the oranges produced in the world are used to make juices and extracts.

The main producing countries are Brazil (which accounts for nearly 30% of world production) and the United States (which accounts for nearly 10%). According to the organization's data, more than 90% of the oranges produced in the United States are used for juicing.

Brazilian companies focus on processing, crushing nationally produced oranges, and exporting the juice extract for further processing and distribution.

US companies import juice extract from Brazil and process it together with orange juice extract produced in the United States to produce orange juice-based soft drinks. These products are then consumed in the country and exported to other countries, such as China.
