The Berries Biobío Comprehensive Territory Program (PTI) organized an online seminar under the title "Agricultural operations and markets in times of the pandemic". The aim was to continue providing information and helping strengthen the agricultural sector in the region ahead of the start of the harvest.
The talk, attended by about 100 people, addressed issues such as "COVID-19 and its administrative impact on the harvest", "Markets and marketing in times of the pandemic, health and work protocols against COVID-19" and "Integrated Management of Droposhila suzukii".
Carlos Muñoz Sufán, Technical Manager of the PTI Berries Biobío Centro, said during this seminar, the third one organized by the PTI, that “we are very happy with this seminar, where valuable information has been shared to help producers in the operation of their farms, especially in the current times of the pandemic."
Regional Ministerial Secretary Francisco Lagos stated that “this seminar, organized by the PTI Berries Biobío, has been very relevant for blueberry producers, since they now have more information regarding agricultural operations and marketing in the times of COVID-19, essential to do better in an increasingly competitive market, especially considering that blueberries are a big export product for the Biobío Region.”
For her part, Corfo Regional Director Macarena Vera said that “this third Berries Webinar, organized by PTI Berries Biobío, has been a tremendous opportunity for berry producers in our region. It has confirmed the advantages of collaborative and associative work to help all actors involved and promote the berry industry at the national level.”
The seminar was carried out thanks to the Biobío Region Productive Development Committee, Corfo, Dasf, Aproberries Biobío A.G., Fundación GTT, Best Berry, Gowan, North Bay Chile, Sierra Vergara and Clearwater Chile. It was also supported by various PTI beneficiary companies.
