Savoye, the French logistics and supply chain company specialising in digitalised and automated storage and picking systems, yesterday announced a global partnership with Scott Technology Limited (New Zealand), a provider of automation and robotics solutions. "The collaboration underlines Scott's commitment to provide further cutting-edge technology in the food and beverage industry," Hervé Aubert, Director of Partnerships at Savoye, says about the partnership.
"The collaboration allows Scott to expand its supply chain and logistics systems offering with the essential component of automated shuttle picking. Our solutions integrate seamlessly with Scott's own conveyor, sortation and palletising applications, enabling the company to offer a true end-to-end solution."
"The materials handling and logistics business is already an important part of the global Scott Group. Up until now, the focus has been primarily on Europe. We are now pleased to be able to offer X-PTS Shuttle technology to frozen food manufacturers in our global target markets - including the USA. We are convinced that the addition of Savoy technology to our portfolio will strengthen this offering," says John Kippenberger, Scott's managing director.
Aubert agrees: "We are very excited about the global partnership with Scott, which enables the integration of the X-PTS shuttle solution in a market where Scott is a strong and renowned player. By combining Scott's expertise in end-of-line solutions with Savoy's X-PTS storage and picking solutions, Scott can offer its customers a complete solution for food applications."
He said the partnership draws on the natural strengths of the two companies and expands their global reach. "Scott and Savoye together have an extensive network of world-class customers, operations in multiple countries and a corporate history of more than 160 years. Our two companies have strong ambitions to expand into the US market and believe this strategic agreement will help them achieve that goal."
Paul Deveikis, Managing Director of Savoye North America, said, "We are excited about this partnership, which will see the US teams of Scott and Savoye working together to develop solutions for US food companies. Savoye North America will accompany and support Scott through our manufacturing facility in Aurora, Illinois, and our US-based integration teams."
The first joint projects, one in South Asia and the other in the United States, are already underway, he said.
