Sennder, a digital road freight forwarder, and Zeitfracht, the Berlin based logistics company, will advance the digitalization of European road freight through a new strategic partnership. Zeitfracht will digitally map all of its transport processes via sennder’s new Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) platform, sennOS. Every year, more than 100 million kilometers of truck journeys will be controlled via sennder’s digital platform.
Zeitfracht is the first partner to use sennder’s SaaS transport management and operating system, sennOS. The digitalized solution will help Zeitfracht efficiently control a fleet of 300 trucks and 800 swap bodies; increasing journey visibility through sennder’s integrated GPS and optimizing routes using sennder’s proprietary algorithms.
Zeitfracht and sennder are committed to making the logistics industry fit for a sustainable future. Using data to optimize route efficiency, sennOS facilitates a reduction in empty load kilometers, reducing the environmental impact of road freight and decreasing the cost of transportation.
Already considered a logistics sector pioneer, the partnership will accelerate Zeitfracht’s digital transportation offering, positioning the business at the forefront of road freight logistics. Alongside enhancing journey visibility and optimizing routes, sennOS directly connects enterprise shippers with trucking companies, providing a digital interface for billing, dispatching and centralized booking. This digitalization and, in some cases, automation of day-to-day operations creates operational efficiencies throughout the transportation ecosystem.
Following its Series D financing round, this is sennder’s second notable announcement in 2021. The Series D funds will grow and develop sennder’s innovative technology and drive geographical expansion, focusing on replicating successful partnerships. Giving sennder a presence in 14 markets and bringing new users to its platform, this partnership demonstrates the type of mutually beneficial agreement that sennder considers key to its development.
David Nothacker, CEO and Co-Founder of sennder, said: “I am delighted to partner with another industry heavyweight in Zeitfracht. We know our expanding Saas offering is key to the next stage of our development, and it is pleasing to have a leading logistics player fully adopt sennOS. By selecting our technology for the management of its fleet, Zeitfracht has given our digital logistics solution a substantial endorsement. We are committed to digitalizing the industry, having dedicated $100m of Series D financing to growing and developing our technology – something that Zeitfracht will directly benefit from.”
With existing partnerships with Scania, Siemens and Poste Italiane and by supplying transport services to over 10 organizations listed in the German DAX 30, and 11 companies comprising the Euro Stoxx 50, sennder is built on collaboration.
Dominik Wiehage, CEO at Zeitfracht says: “We are confident that the full adoption of the sennOS platform will take us to the next stage of our digitalization. This agreement puts us in a position to revolutionize our entire process chain, equipping ourselves with a sales channel that’s ready for the future. We look forward to working with sennder’s young and dynamic team.”
