According to a consumer advocacy group, the prices of imported fruits in South Korea are higher than in any other country. The group compared the prices of 25 imported items in cities of 10 major countries and found that the prices of nine imported items, including fruits and livestock products, were higher in South Korea than in any other country.
The domestic prices of such items were more than 1.5 times more expensive than the average prices of the ten major countries. In all eight of the categories of imported fruits, the domestic prices were the highest or second highest among the 10 countries.
