Chemical savings up to 78%. Video below

Electric robot for a precise weed control

Over the past few months, the Swiss company Ecorobotix has developed an electric-powered robot, powered by photovoltaics. The additional novelty lies in the fact that it is a precision weed killer that saves up to 78% of chemicals.

Video below

The tests were conducted last summer in Germany on herbaceous crops, with a system also valid for horticultural crops. A network of video cameras analyzes the presence and type of weeds and sprays exactly on the infesting leaf the minimum quantity necessary for the weeding.

The advantages of this precision herbicide are its self-sustaining system, the saving of crop protection products, and the vehicle's four-wheel drive, which allows it to work even on slopes. The system is controlled by an algorithm that can be adapted to specific needs and is less sensitive to wind than conventional spraying systems.
