This is the third year in a row that Frutacloud has supplied the Chinese market with Chilean Muscat Beauty grapes. The first Muscat Beauty grapes of the season have recently arrived in China, however the production areas suffered from extreme weather conditions and that is why the overall production volume declined this season. The supply volume is expected to decline by 20%-30% compared to last season. The price is strong, the early-season grapes sell well and the price of top-quality grapes is not bad at all.

"The Muscat Beauty grapes that Frutacloud supplies to the Chinese market primarily come from Peru and Chile. The production volume is limited. The Muscat Beauty grapes that recently arrived in China came from Chile. The supply season begins every year in March and lasts until May. The production season of Peruvian Muscat Beauty grapes takes place around January and February. Those grapes are mostly exported to the European and American markets." The Chilean Muscat Beauty grape is a relatively small mini grape of the seedless variety. The grapes are around 20mm in diameter. The Muscat Beauty grapes enter the market around the same time as the Australian seedless Crimson grapes, which have a diameter of 21mm. The Peruvian green Sweet Globe grapes have a diameter of 28mm. In addition, the Muscat Beauty grape is a round grape, whereas most grapes are oval. That is why the Muscat Beauty grape looks even smaller than other grape varieties.

In addition, the Muscat Beauty grape has a 'slightly rosy tint'. Most grapes clearly belong in one of the following categories: dark red, red, or green. But the coloring of the Chilean Muscat Beauty grape is peculiar. When this grape is ripe the basic color is green, but pink and brownish tints are mixed in with the green. The overall effect is a rosy color, but when the color deepens it is more akin to amber. This is completely different from most brightly-colored grape varieties.

The color of Muscat Beauty grapes is not as bright as the color of other grapes, and the grapes are not crispy like other grapes but rather soft. The Muscat Beauty grape also has a unique fragrance.
