The steady growth of Pink Lady® in Sweden continues. In four years, sales volumes of the Pink Lady® apple in Sweden have increased by an average of 25 percent per year, and the excellent result for this season confirms the trend. The 2020–2021 season was a record year for the apple with the pink heart, with more than 2.3 tonnes of apples sold so far, which corresponds to a growth of 22 percent compared to last season, which was also an outstanding season.
The Pink Lady® apple's unique taste, crunchiness and juiciness, but also the brand's commitments for responsible production, make it Sweden's foremost 'club apple'.
And thanks to its growth, which is twice as fast as the apple category in total (in terms of volume), Pink Lady® drives the growth of the entire fruit and vegetable counter.
Bee Pink®
Pink Lady® builds on last year's successes and launched a new version of the Bee Pink® campaign, in collaboration with the ICA stores and Lönnhässle Bigård. Three million apples in bulk with the Bee Pink® sticker, the name of the brand's bee protection program, were available in more than 1,200 stores across the country until April 25, 2021.
This campaign draws attention to the Bee Pink® program, which aims to spread good breeding methods to protect bees and provides an opportunity for Pink Lady® to share her sustainable values and educational material with her partner ICA, the beekeepers in Lönnhässle and consumers - a program where everyone is a winner.
