Second Trade, Investment and Industry Dialogue

Philippines restated call for Australia to allow banana exports

The Philippines has restated its request for Australia to grant market access for fresh Cavendish bananas and to lift the anti-dumping measure imposed on the nation’s canned pineapples. This was raised at the Philippines – Australia convene Second Trade, Investment, and Industry Dialogue led by Trade and Industry Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo and Australia’s Department of Foreign and Trade Deputy Secretary Christopher Langman.

As reported on mb.com.ph, the convening of the second Philippines – Australia Trade, Investment and Industry Dialogue (PATIID) on 20 April 2021 marked the reactivation of the economic bilateral cooperation mechanism after a six-year hiatus. The Dialogue was also held as part of a series of events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Philippines – Australia diplomatic relations.
