The Guinness World Records has officially declared an impressive 4.25-kilogram mango grown by Jerland Orlando Nova Barrera and Raina Maria Moroquin on the San Martin farm in Boá, Colombia, to be the largest mango in the world.
This mango surpassed by far the previous record, which was established in 2009 in the Philippines by a mango that weighed 3.435 kilograms.
"This is an award and a recognition to the producers' effort, dedication, and love for nature. In addition, it is the municipality's second Guinness World Record. In 2014, we broke the record for the longest natural flower carpet, which was 3,199 square meters big," they stated.
After the mango was sized and documented for the record, the family shared the mango and celebrated. However, they made sure to have a memento of their achievement. "It was very tasty and healthy. Before we ate it, we cast a copy and donated it to the municipality," they stated.
