Today Pascale Tammes, owner of HOdds, announced that her company is changing its name. HOdds, which has been scouting for innovative and better tomato varieties for tomato producers and supermarkets since 2014, will continue its activities under the appropriate name Variety Matching.
The right variety for the right customer
The name change comes at a logical moment. Pascale Tammes explains: “Corona and ToBRFV have resulted in a reduced travel frequency of our target group and an increase in requests for our services 'Innovation & Development' and 'Benchmarking & Varietal Advice'. We recently have worked hard on the strategy for the next five years. Long-term confidential relationships with customers and clear communication are paramount. This includes our new name, Variety Matching, that clearly describes what we do: matching the right variety with the right customer. The right variety that matches 'our customer' and of course 'the customer's customer.”
Innovation & Development
Variety Matching works exclusively for producers and supermarkets and together with breeding companies and consumers. "Depending on the customer's needs, our customers can choose between two services that offer them a solution", Pascale explains. "Innovators who are looking for innovations and high flavor and looking for support, don't want to miss anything or want a second opinion, choose for our service 'Innovation & Development'. Variety Matching helps them in their search for innovative and the best varieties in the Netherlands and abroad."
"The pearls among the tomatoes," Pascale calls them. "Every tomato we discover is tasted. Product characteristics of interesting varieties are measured, plant descriptions are made and, if necessary, small-scale consumer surveys are carried out to better determine the position of the variety.”
Benchmarking & Varietal advice
“Customers who are looking for another commercial variety for large-scale production in the very short term or want to expand their segment, optimize the shelf or replace a product, opt for the service 'Benchmarking & Variety Advice'. We compare their current variety with the varieties in our database. They receive a tailored advice that matches their search profile.”
New website
The new name comes with a new website as well, that clearly communicates what Variety Matching does and what Variety Matching stands for. "Because all our customers are unique, have their own strategy and grow under different circumstances, one-on-one contact with them is necessary to be able to provide tailor-made advice. Producers and supermarkets can submit a request on the website for an online meeting in which they can ask their questions and we can draw up a search profile together.”
