Estimate of US potato acres planted in 2021

US potato growers planted 2.4% more than one year ago

US growers planted 22,000 acres or 2.4% more than a year ago, when they were dealing with cutbacks related to COVID-19.

An estimates drop in acreage within the top thirteen states is forecast in Wisconsin, Colorado, Michigan and California.

Potato acreage is still 25,000 acres below 2019 estimates, with water
availability in California, playing a role.

Total planted acreage includes 13 states reporting to USDA, NASS.
