Chinese imports of American produce increased by 120.8% so far this year

During the first six months of 2021, China and the United States saw a total of 2.21 trillion yuan worth of bilateral trade, a year-on-year increase of 34.6%. China exported 1.64 trillion yuan worth of products to the United States, seeing an increase of 31.7%, and at the same time imported 570.65 billion yuan worth of products, seeing an increase of 43.9%. Among the imports, the value of mechanical and electrical products stood at 238.86 billion yuan, seeing an increase of 13.4%; the import value of agricultural products was 136.01 billion yuan, seeing an increase of 120.8%. The data was released by Li Kuiwen, the spokesperson of the General Administration of Customs on July 13.
