Francisco Delgado, manager of Los Gallombares:

"With the new plant in Loja we will be able to handle 120,000 kg of fresh green asparagus every 8 hours"

Los Gallombares, a company specialized in the production and marketing of asparagus, aims to open new packaging and handling facilities in Loja, Granada, which are currently under construction, by 2022.

"For a couple of years, we had wanted to find a good piece of land to expand our facilities and be able to handle all the production we have," says Francisco Delgado, manager of Los Gallombares. "With the new plant in Loja we will be able to handle around 120,000 kilos of fresh green asparagus every 8 hours."

"The new facilities will have a total of 10,000 square meters featuring some 11 lines of work, which will result in the creation of around 400 new jobs to be added to the 700 jobs in the warehouses that we already have. It will be a fairly large plant compared to what we currently have, so that we can move easily and make it easier for our logistics," says Francisco Delgado.

Los Gallombares will give more details about the new facilities at the next edition of the Fruit Attraction fair, where they will be attending as exhibitors in Hall 9, stand 9C07.
