According to balance figures provided by the International Trader, Técnicas Baltime de Colombia (Tecbaco), in 2021 the company exported 17.8 million boxes of bananas, i.e. 23% more than in the previous year, for $818,000 million.
The company exported 10.9 million boxes of conventional bananas and 6.9 million boxes of organic bananas in 2021. The main destination was the United States, which received 78% of conventional bananas and 88% of organic bananas.
“These results are a reflection of the commitment and work of all Tecbaco collaborators, who work every day to strengthen our quality processes so as to win over more international markets and meet consumer demands. This approach has allowed us to export our finest product abroad and grow so we can reach our goal of exporting 25 million boxes in 2025," stated Yerges Rodriguez, the manager of Tecbaco.
This balance reaffirms Tecbaco is one of the leading banana companies in Colombia. The company exceeded its own goals and it's growing by leaps and bounds, which has allowed it to contribute to the reactivation of the sector and the recovery of the country's economy.
